Installing a ground anchor might not be a daily task for many, but with the right approach, it’s entirely manageable. At Solero, we regularly install ground anchors for parasols and are happy to share a few tips.

What do you need?
- Measuring tape: to determine the exact location of the ground anchor.
- Shovel and angle grinder: to create a hole in the ground.
- Bucket and concrete mixer: to mix concrete according to the ratios provided on the packaging.
- Rubber mallet: to level the ground anchor.
- Spirit level: to ensure everything is perfectly level.
- Sponge: to smooth out the concrete.
Step-by-step instructions
- Determine the location
Measure the spot where the ground anchor will be placed. Ensure there is at least 25 cm of free space around it. - Create the hole
Remove tiles or cut out a hole measuring 50×50 cm wide and 50-60 cm deep. Firmly compact the soil to prevent it from mixing with the concrete. - Mix and pour the concrete
Mix the concrete and water in a bucket until it forms a smooth consistency. Pour the concrete into the hole and spread it evenly. Use the shovel to poke into the concrete and eliminate air bubbles. - Place the ground anchor
Apply a thin layer of grease to the screws and press the ground anchor into the concrete. Use the rubber mallet to level it. Check with the spirit level to ensure it is perfectly straight. - Finish up
Smooth the excess concrete with a sponge and let it cure for three days. - Install the parasol
After three days, the parasol can be installed. Do this with two people and tighten the screws firmly. Adjust the parasol to ensure it stands straight.
